DIE SWANS EXCLUSIVE JMUNCH MEGAMIX

Well… I got something special for you guys today! Here’s my first interview EVER(!), and an exclusive megamix from someone I really like. Let the interview begin!
Hello! First of all, could you please give us a short introduction of yourself?
My name is Die Swans, Im from Manchester, UK, im 21 and I make whatever music I feel like and release it under BANANA Records.
Could you tell us about your current gear?
I try to keep things as simple as possible in the studio, I find it way too easy to procrastinate or get distracted surrounded by equipment. I do run a fair few samplers but apart from that, its just an iMac, Mixer, Monitors and my mind.
What do you think the future will bring you?
We have ALOT lined up, I cant say too much. We have been getting loads of offers to work on some really big projects but its all still a bit hush hush, I can say that there is a new EP ready to drop on BANANA, an album in the works, a fair few remixes due out soon, and quite alot of time to be spent on tour.
I’m very glad that you took your time to do a exclusive mix for Jmunch.com. Did you have anything special in mind, when doing this mix?
Everything I do Is special. The mix itself is basically a reworking of the current set from my last European dates, I tend to do edits of nearly all tracks I play, so nothing is ever really what it seems. Its quite mashed up, really fast paced, just party music.
Since this blog has mainly Danish readers I’d like to know if you ever play any tracks from Danish artists at gigs?
Trentemøller’s remix of What Else Is There is possibly one of the greatest pieces of remix work ever done. I was playing it 4 years ago and I am still playing it today. erm, Im a big fan of Kolsch, im sure I have played Loreley once or twice. I don’t generally geo-tag the music I play so there is probably more.
Do you have any last advice for beginner DJs how to become better DJs or even get more jobs?
Surround yourself with people who have the same drive and passion as you, I have been really lucky with BANANA that I have found this family of people who all want the same thing, but want to do it together. Its vital you find people you can vibe off and learn from. Else the success, if you get any, is fairly fruitless. Deep….
